Gufa (Holy Cave)

A Gufa (Holy Cave) has been created in the Dham based on the inspiration from the famous Gufa at Maa Vaishno Devi Shrine at Katra, Jammu. The Gufa has been developed to give devotees of Maa an opportunity to experience serenity and purity by taking them through the rock molded cave while doing the Darshan of Nine Avatars of Maa Vaishno Devi.

There are nine graceful statues of Nine Avatars of Maa inside the Gufa. All the nine avatars, i.e. Shailputri Maa, Brahmacharini Maa, Chandraghanta Maa, Kushmanda Maa, Skanda Maa, Katyayani Maa, Kalratri Maa, Maha Gauri Maa, and Siddhidatri Maa have been placed in a natural cove inside the Gufa.

The Gufa has a unique feature which enhances the overall experience of the devotees when they visit it. While doing the Darshan, a light stream of cold water rushes through the feet of devotees, purifying them of all their sins. The whole episode of this Gufa gives a satisfying experience to the devotees. In terms of its measurements, the total length of the Gufa is close to 300 ft on both sides, i.e. at the entrance as well as at the exit.
